PhilRich International has built a reputation as the #1 natural hair studio in the Orlando, Fl area. It is also known as the one stop hair studio. Selling hair products, jewelry, custom clothing, and much more.  PhilRich opened its doors in Jacksonville Fl in 1996, and moved to Orlando Florida in 1998 where the salon has a more diverse clientele. 

PhilRich is a natural hair care salon specializing in locks, twist, weaves, advanced hair replacement and make up services. Since our work has been seen in several  hair magazines; we have attracted clientele from as far as Europe, Far East, and the Caribbean.

Owners Richard and Phyllis Allen continue to keep their focus on quality and services. Phyllis Allen is a Florida State Provider for Hair braider, Hair wrapping, and HIV courses.

Phyllis Allen started doing braids as a teenager. She’d braid the hair of people from the neighborhood. She always had an interest in natural hair from her youth. While in college she wore braids when they were not very popular. Phyllis has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Central State University in Ohio and a masters from Howard University in Washington, DC.

Phyllis started PhilRich International because she couldn’t find anyone to work with her natural hair. Phyllis has always put education first, so when she decided to open her Natural Hair Salon she sought after the best in the cosmetology field for training. She received her training from a myriad of masters in their particular field of expertise. To name a few; Torain Hair Extensions, Lisa Colman Weaving, Pivot Point International Hair Sculpting (cutting), Taliah Waajid Natural Hair & Braiding, Daniele Sullivan Professional Wig Making and Lacefront Creation (Hair replacement), Makeup Institute, and Bert Roth Theatrical Makeup. Phyllis has attended classes from the east coast to the west coast and places in between.

Phyllis Allen is a licensed cosmetologist and a State of Florida provider for Braids, Hair Wrapping, and HIV courses. She also specializes in natural hair, weaves, hair extensions, advanced hair replacement, makeup, and is an educator and does motivational speaking.

She has media credits for hair, makeup, and was a contributing writer to such hair magazines as Blacktress Braids & More, Sophisticates Black Hair, Braidsworld, Hollywood Worldwide, Black Hair & Braids, and many more. Other media credits are makeup artist on Video; “Contagious”, CD “Duska, Associated Black Press Fashion Show, and Locks & Braids Beauty Show. She is the Author of “How to Make a Lace Front Wig”.

She has done her magic on celebrity clients such as Justin Timberlake, recording artist; Sheri Sam, WNBA; Duska, recording artist; Ronald Isely, recording artist; R. Kelly, recording artist; and Shanta Moore, recording artist.

Phyllis' motto is just like the UNCF “A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste” That’s why she is always being creative and seeking new and better things to do. She makes jewelry, custom clothing, and her own hair care products. Phyllis is a true entrepreneur and she would like to teach you how to become one also.

Richard G. Allen

Richard G. Allen (Rich) is a Master Loctician & Natural Hair Specialist and the business manager of PhilRich International Locks and Hair Extensions.

Rich also holds a BS Degree in Marketing-Management and a Braider’s Certificate from the state of Florida. Rich has been trained in most aspects of natural hair and is a proficient instructor in Lock Maintenance, Lock Extensions and most natural hair styles.

Rich is also an expert constructor of Hair Integrations and teaches the correct way build from one weft hair from start to finish by hand; (a Custom Unit that the stars wear.)

Rich is the marketing instructor for Phyllis Allen Academy of Beauty and teaches students how to attract and keep customers utilizing low cost or free advertising.
